Wînipêk

As fall settles in, I’ve been reflecting on my film Wînipêk, which was selected to be a part of the ImagineNative film fest in the shorts program “Tied To The Land”. The screening was this past June at the Lightbox cinema in Toronto.

This film is very much transitional for me; experimental and narrative forms blending and working seamlessly together

Many thanks to my collaborator Thilo Schaller for your sound recordings and sound direction, it was so instrumental in how this film came together.

Work In Progress

New work taking shape, footage and audio I recently shot in Carberry, Mb. Finding a balance between atmosphere and visuals by remixing audio and layering noise over the footage. My goal is to emphasize the tension through the framing and sound design, building the audio as the character moves into the woods.

Kinship

New ways of connecting that I never knew were possible, through family, movement and language. This piece represents a part of a bigger project that uses abstract images and manipulated sounds to convey how language is connected and moves through us.
