It’s an overcast and gloomy day here in Winnipeg, so it’s the perfect time, to spend some time at my studio. A burst of colour is the perfect way to cut through the dreariness. Painted these in acrylic on canvas paper.

Slow Sunday here today, spent some time reviewing and editing footage, creating short pieces that carry the hazy recollection of memories. The feeling when you try and recall a moment and all you can find are the shapes and sounds of where you used to be.
This week I spent an evening at the studio, working with watercolours in a vibrant primary blue. After a long stressful day, I’m grateful to be able to sit down put my brush to the canvas and focus on being creative. It’s incredibly grounding, bringing me into the moment and letting the stress of the day fade away.

Repost. One of my favourite things to do is collaborate with my Partner. This is a short I did with him a few years back. I love watching this, and how he works. It was such a warm evening in June and I loved every minute, capturing this moment with him.
I’m so excited to share that I am having my FIRST gallery show. It’s something I’ve been working towards, and it’s wonderful to finally see it coming together. Opening on October 4th, it’s a collaborative show, myself and 3 other artists, and includes recent abstract works! The poster background for the show is actually one of the pieces that I’ll have on display! If you happen to be in Winnipeg, come on down and check out my work!

Recently went back to my home town to visit my family, and take some photo’s of the farm house where i spent a few of my formidable years. Though it is currently empty and falling apart, this house still holds so many clear and present memories.

I was down at my studio the other night, working on a monochromatic watercolour in Ochre Yellow. So far it’s looking great. I have 2 more steps to apply before it’s done, so I’m posting some pics from the process of putting it together.

Yesterday I was down at my studio, trying out some new watercolour combos, and I’m happy with the results of my experimenting. It was a great afternoon down at the studio, and a nice way to spend my day off.

In Summer 2015, I took over a studio space in Winnipeg’s iconic Exchange District. Located at 75 Albert Street in Winnipeg Manitoba, it really is a fantastic location, the view out of my windows is beautiful, and having the constant hum of downtown around me is golden. It’s been a great space that is inspiring, and gives me room to be creative. From writing to painting, my work is done within my studio walls. I am lucky to have this space, and i’m super excited for all the work i will be producing out of the studio this year.
