This monochromatic piece was done in Prussian blue and I’m just so happy with this. The tone, hues and the variation from one colour are extraordinary. Excited to work with this colour more.

I love being downtown, there’s something about the buildings, all the activity and sounds of people and the rush of cars passing by that give me all the good feels. Here’s a few shots in glorious black and white in my city of Winnipeg
During the holiday season I painted a gift for my husband, a piece based around his experience during a sweat lodge where an elder gave him his name and his colours.
Yellow, red and black.
I wanted to capture the clarity of the moment coupled with the intensity of a new responsibility given to him. From the darkness of the sweat lodge comes new light.
Living in Manitoba means living with winter on the prairies; cold, endless and always so beautiful. I grew up in rural Manitoba and I’ve always loved the cleansing palette of a harsh winter day. The clearer the sky the more brutal the temperatures seem to be, and I kind of love it.
I recently picked up a Dji Mini 2 drone and I took it out for a spin on a frigid winter weekend. I collected the footage and started playing with it, overlaying the images to create something that is familiar and kind of out of this world. Sometimes that’s how it feels here in Manitoba, like a cold distant planet and I’m happy to call this place my home.
(Sidenote I made my first foray into muzak, I created the music and sounds for this and I’m really happy with the results)
Such a simple colour, but the hue is so nice. I love this pink. I was playing around with portrait pink and aqua green and created this little graphic. 16×20 in acrylic.

Something so moody about the city after a rainfall, especially in black and white. A bit unusual since it’s January but we will take it. It will be snow and -35 soon enough.

2020 has come to a close and here we are on the very first day of 2021. The past year was marked with creative highs and personal lows and the one thing that remained constant and familiar was my art studio. I wanted to share some shots of my space from this past year, to celebrate the time that has passed and to look forward to working more in this art space.
I hope everyone has a creative and cozy start to the new year. I’m going to make another cup of coffee, read a bit of my book and then venture down to my second home, my art studio.
It’s been a different season here in Manitoba currently in Code Red. Normally a vibrant season with friends and family, social gatherings and gift exchanges, we are now isolated and limited to the contact we can have. The seasonal feeling is muted and contemplative this year. I’m so grateful for my creative outlet and artistic expression, it’s been a saving grace in these uncertain times.
This is a new piece that I completed and I’m very happy with it. Colours I don’t usually work with and a style that I should do more often. Acrylic in burnt umber and yellow hues, this piece feels like my headspace right now. Stormy, full of thoughts and soft with colour.
I’ve been working with a local gallery, the Plug In Institute of Contemporary Art, documenting and recording their current show. The end result, a short document that will be used for online platforms and in a University setting to explore the themes and complexity of the installation.
We are in the final lap, video has been recorded and now we have to finish our audio on December 4th.
The process has been different to navigate with Covid-19. I’m so used to just jumping in, but this has required a whole new style of creative navigation. Here are some screenshots from the final cut. It’s just so nice to look at and gives me all the warm feelings of creative satisfaction.
